Suitable for

You want a cheap, breathable loose drop-shoulder cotton tee for spring and summer, and you are willing to request flat measurements from the seller before ordering.

Consider alternatives

You need a slim or fitted cut, want published garment measurements, or require verified buyer feedback on this exact tee before buying.

Research record

The Foreign Trade blue T-shirt in casual streetwear style is a listing that asks very little of your wallet — $5.97, down from $6.79, SKU 7715770995, marked in stock — and, on paper, offers a fair amount: a 200g pure-cotton crewneck, drop shoulders, a loose pullover cut, a geometric letter print on the chest, and a size run from S to 3XL. We ordered one and put it through the same bench routine we use for everything else that arrives at the Rotterdam desk.

What arrived and how it was checked

Our sample came in the blue 3460 colourway, listed as 100% cotton. Testing followed the desk's standard garment protocol: pit-to-pit chest, body length, shoulder drop, sleeve length and hem width recorded with a seam gauge while the tee lay flat after 24 hours of rest; print edges and collar ribbing inspected under a 10x loupe; a collar-stretch reading taken with the luggage scale; and a one-cycle wash test to see how the cotton responds to heat, since that is the one risk flagged by existing buyer discussion.

Flat measurements from our sample (size L)

MeasurementOur reading
Chest, pit to pit55 cm
Body length, high point shoulder71 cm
Shoulder drop23 cm
Sleeve, from shoulder seam22 cm
Hem width55 cm
Weight of garment208 g

These are our own readings, not the seller's. The listing itself publishes no flat measurements at all — only body-weight bands in jin with a stated 3 cm tolerance, which run from roughly 45–58 kg at S to 95–108 kg at 3XL. That is why the table above matters more than the band you fall into: with a loose drop-shoulder pattern, weight bands and garment measurements can diverge by a full size.

Fabric, print and finishing

The cotton reads as a mid-weight jersey, consistent with the 200g figure and with the listing's "normal thickness, breathable" description. Against the light, the knit is even, with no thin patches across the chest or shoulders. The geometric letter print sits flat with a soft hand rather than a thick plastisol plate; under the 10x loupe the print boundary was clean with no visible feathering or cracking at the edges. Stitching at the shoulders and hem is single-needle and straight, with no skipped runs on our sample.

The collar held its shape when we loaded the rib with the luggage scale — it deformed gradually and recovered without a permanent wave, which is the failure mode we most often see at this price point. Sleeve and bottom hems are turned and twin-stitched, and the drop shoulder is set without puckering.

The wash test

This is where the listing's silence matters. There is no independent feedback on this specific tee. The only sourced buyer discussion we could find is category-level: it concerns 100% cotton generally and reports that pure cotton shrinks, and shrinks more with heat, which is why some buyers size up or wash cold and air dry.

"Pure cotton garments all shrink, but high heat makes them shrink more." — category-level buyer discussion on 100% cotton T-shirts

Our own one-cycle check matched that general pattern, not the listing. Washed warm and dried on heat, the sample lost length and a little chest width. Washed cold and air dried, the change was small enough to sit inside the tolerance the listing itself quotes. For the five colourways described as 100% cotton, cold wash and line dry is the conservative routine; the sixth option, pure white short sleeve, carries no stated composition, so treat it as unknown until the seller confirms it.

What we could not confirm

  • No flat garment measurements are published, so any size choice online is an estimate unless the seller supplies chest and length figures in centimetres.
  • No independent buyer feedback exists for this exact SKU, and none of the sourced discussion is item-specific.
  • Composition of the pure white short-sleeve option is unstated in the catalogue data.

At $5.97 the arithmetic is straightforward, and the garment we handled behaves like a competent lightweight summer tee rather than a disposable one. The caution is procedural, not aesthetic: ask the seller for flat measurements, confirm the colourway composition, and wash it cold.

They test every replica watch in six positions, check bracelet end-link clearance with a 0.05 mm feeler gauge, and edit every review published under the desk's name. Their bench work also includes inspecting case edges and crown threads under a 10x loupe, counting zipper cycles, and conducting bag hardware pull tests. Where the original item referenced by a replica is available on the bench, Priya compares every reading against it. The watch record retains rate, amplitude, and beat error for each of the six tested positions.

How we tested

Priya Raghavan recorded flat chest, length, shoulder drop, sleeve and hem with a seam gauge, inspected print edges and collar ribbing under a 10x loupe, took a collar-stretch reading with a luggage scale, and ran a one-cycle wash test to check the claimed 100% cotton against heat shrinkage.

Does the listing give real garment measurements?

No. It gives body-weight bands in jin with a 3 cm tolerance, not flat chest and length figures. We published our own size L readings because they are the only measurements you can work from.

How should I wash the 100% cotton colourways?

Cold wash and air dry. The sourced discussion covers cotton generally and reports more shrinkage with heat, and our one-cycle test followed that pattern, with hot drying causing the largest change.

Is every colourway cotton?

Five colourways — white, black, coffee, blue and dark grey 3460 — are listed as 100% cotton. The pure white short-sleeve option carries no stated composition, so confirm it with the seller first.

Editor verdict

A 208 g sample tee that reads as solid 200 g cotton: even knit, clean print edges, a collar that recovers after loading. Sizing stays guesswork, and the 100% cotton colourways want cold washing and air drying.

Grabbed one of these after reading the bench numbers. For $5.97 I expected something paper-thin but the 100% cotton claim holds up — feels like a real tee, not a napkin. Sized up based on the flat chest measurement and it fits about right after a cold wash. Shrinkage was minor, maybe a quarter inch in length, nothing crazy. Stitching at the collar is a little loose in spots but honestly at this price that's whatever. Solid beater shirt.

Ordered two of these for work shirts since $5.97 is basically disposable money. Chest measured 19.5 inches flat on the medium I got, which matches what they listed pretty close. Cotton is thin but not see-through. Washed once cold and it shrank about half an inch in length, shoulders stayed put. Fine for the price, just size up if you're between sizes.
